Eligibility Conditions

To apply for an India Visa on Arrival, you must:

  • Be visiting India for tourism, short medical treatment, casual business, or visiting friends/family.

  • Hold a passport valid for at least 6 months from the date of arrival.

  • Have at least two blank passport pages for stamping.

  • Carry a return ticket or onward travel proof, with sufficient funds for your stay.

  • Apply only with an individual passport (no shared passports).

  • Not hold diplomatic or official passports.

  • Not be of Pakistani origin or holding Pakistani passport (must apply through regular visa channels).

  • Not hold international travel documents in place of passports.

How to Apply for Indian Tourist Visa Online

Application Steps:

  1. Apply Online – Fill in the e-Visa form and upload:

    • A recent passport-size photo

    • Passport bio-page

  2. Pay Visa Fee – Securely online using credit/debit cards
    (TVoA Fee: USD $60 per applicant)

  3. Receive ETA by Email – Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) will be emailed within a few days

  4. Fly to India – Print your ETA and carry it with you for verification on arrival

Application Timing

  • Apply at least 4 days prior to your travel date

  • ETA window is 30 days from date of application
    (e.g. If applying on Sept 1, arrival window is Sept 5 to Oct 4)

Arrival & Entry Information

  • Valid for entry through 9 major Indian airports:

    • Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Cochin, Goa & Trivandrum

  • Biometric data will be collected at immigration

  • Visa is valid for 30 days from the date of arrival

  • Only single-entry, non-extendable, non-convertible

  • Maximum 2 entries per calendar year

Important Reminders

  • The TVoA fee is non-refundable

  • Carry a printed copy of the ETA approval

  • Yellow fever vaccination card is mandatory for travelers from yellow fever–affected countries

Notes on Payment Errors

If you fail the online payment process more than 3 times, your application ID will be blocked. You will then need to reapply with a new ID.
